CITY OF TOLEDO - NOTICE TO RESIDENTS

Mosquito SprayingThe City of Toledo will be spraying for mosquitos on Tuesdays starting in May 2026 and continuing through August 2026.
Spraying will occur at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Hydrant Flushing

The City will begin flushing fire hydrants the first week of May and will continue intermittently through August.
This may cause temporary discoloration of water. Please check your water before use.
Weed & Lawn Maintenance – City Ordinance Chapter 52.01

Residents are reminded that lawns and gardens must be maintained as follows:

  • Noxious weeds must be kept under control
  • Grass and lawn height must not exceed six (6) inches
Violations will receive a one-time notice. If not corrected and maintained throughout the mowing season, the City will mow the property at the owner’s expense of $200.00 for initial mowing.
Grass Clippings & Street Safety

Grass clippings CANNOT be left in the street.
Clippings can wash into storm drains, causing blockages and unnecessary repairs. Please ensure all yard waste remains off roadways.
City Brush Pile Use

The City brush site is for:

  • Tree limbs
  • Grass clippings
  • General yard waste
Do NOT dump construction material or garbage.
The site is monitored by video surveillance, and improper dumping may result in fines.
WOODLAWN CEMETERY – DECORATION REMOVAL NOTICE

Woodlawn Cemetery

All decorations and ornaments that are not permanently attached to the concrete foundation must be removed by June 8th, 2026, or they will be disposed of by the City.
This includes:

  • Vases, urns, shepherd’s hooks
  • Flowers, hearts, plaques
  • Metal, wood, plastic, ceramic items
  • Glass, toys, and all other non-permanent decorations

Lead Service Line Inventory

The City of Toledo is committed to providing safe, reliable drinking water to all residents. As part of federal drinking water regulations, the City has complete an inventory of water service line materials throughout the community. 
​The inventory identifies the known or suspected material of water service lines connect to properties within the City of Toledo and helps guide future replacement efforts.

What is a service line?

A water service line is a pipe that carries the drinking water from the public water main to your house or business. Service lines may be made of various materials, including copper, galvanized steel, plastic, or lead.

Why is this important?
Lead can pose health risks when present in drinking water. Identifying service line materials helps the City and property owners make informed decisions regarding maintenance and replacement.
